❓ Not sure if this is for you?
If your school is small…
ASGA’s training is practical and immediately applicable no matter how small your SG is or how limited your resources are. Small schools consistently leave with ideas they can put to work right away.
If you’re a community college…
Community college SGAs face unique challenges, such as commuter students, high turnover, two-year terms. And ASGA addresses all of it. Community colleges are among our most loyal and enthusiastic attendees.
If you’re a large or well-known university…
The size or reputation of your school has nothing to do with how effective your Student Government is. The most sophisticated SGAs in the country attend this conference every year, because there is always more to learn.
If you belong to a statewide or citywide SGA association…
Most statewide and citywide associations in North Carolina, Texas, California, Minnesota, and elsewhere focus on advocacy and networking. ASGA focuses on making your individual SGA more effective. The two serve very different purposes. ASGA supplements those groups, and you’ll learn things here that no state association covers.
If you’ve attended before…
ASGA gets better every single year: more knowledge, more research, new speakers, and entirely new workshops. The content you experienced two, three or 10 years ago is not the content we offer today. Like an athlete in their prime or a musician who perfects their craft through years of practice, ASGA is better now than it has ever been. Many of our most loyal attendees come back year after year. And they always leave with something new.
Note: If you have less than three months left in your term of office, you should not attend. The training is most valuable for those with time to implement what they learn.
